It was said that the 2017 movie was going to be the first and last Gintama live action. The entrance fee is 2,200 yen for adults and 1,100 yen for children. The Gintama-Kyoto Collaboration Event (Japanese only) will be held at Toei Kyoto Studio Park and will run from July 21 until September 17, 2018. Gintama promises that the stamp rally, the food and drinks, exhibit, merchandise, and the specially-designed trains are going to be better and more exciting than 2017’s. Gintama will once again collaborate with Kyoto City to give fans a chance to explore the movie’s filming locations and enjoy various events. The addition of Miura Haruma and Kubota Masataka will certainly result in an explosion of star power and impressive visuals. The Gintama live action already has Oguri Shun, Suda Masaki, Okada Masaki, Yagira Yuya, Yoshizawa Ryo, and Domoto Tsuyoshi. He’s also reliable when it comes to films and dramas that require motorcycle riding and action stunts. He has already displayed his acting skills as the lead in the live-action adaptations of Death Note (the 2015 series) and Tokyo Ghoul. Masataka Kubota plays the cool music producer-cum-assassin with teal hair. Many viewers (including me) were probably disappointed when the Kiheitai was introduced without Kawakami Bansai in the first movie. To achieve this goal, he joins forces with the Kiheitai, the Jouihashishi (攘夷派志士) extremist group led by Takasugi Shinsuke. He is the treacherous political advisor who aims to become the head of the Shinsengumi no matter what it takes, even if it means eliminating Vice-Commander Hijikata Toshiro and Commander Kondo Isao. Known for playing Kazehaya Shota in Kimi ni Todoke and Eren in Attack on Titan, Miura Haruma will take the role of Gintama 2‘s main antagonist, Ito Kamotaro. Two famous live-action lead actors join the cast to play the baddies.
